0-01Arc Dot Skates

Overview

Forty round dots of 0.8 mm virgin PTFE in three sizes, for any mouse — or for tuning your own. Dots touch the pad with less surface than full skates, so the mouse breaks into motion more easily and the glide feels lighter, and you decide exactly where they sit.

Four near the corners of the base make a stable mouse; five or six spread the load on a heavy mouse or a soft pad. Every dot on the sheet has the same thickness, so sizes mix freely — larger ones at the front and back, smaller ones where the base narrows — and one sheet is enough to set up several mice or try a few layouts.

  • 40 dots in 3 sizes
  • Any mouse, your layout
  • Less contact, easier start
  • 0.8 mm virgin PTFE

Placing dot skates(4)

About 5 minutes, start to finish.
  1. Clear the base

Dots replace full skates rather than sitting next to them: at different heights the mouse would rock. Lift the old skates and clean off their adhesive, as in a skate swap.

  2. Plan the layout

Use at least four dots, one near each corner and as far apart as the base allows, so the mouse can’t tip. On a heavy mouse or a soft pad, add one or two more. Keep every dot clear of the sensor window.

  3. Clean the spots

Wipe each spot with the alcohol prep pad and let it dry for a minute.

  4. Place and press

Lift each dot by its edge with tweezers and set it straight down — don’t slide it into place. Press it for 10 seconds, then check that the mouse sits level and glides straight.

TipSizes mix freely, since every dot on a sheet has the same thickness: larger dots at the front and back, smaller ones where the base narrows.
