Overview
Prism skates swap PTFE for thin, chemically tempered glass, which is far harder and never wears in or down. The mouse breaks into motion with almost no initial resistance, and the glide you feel on the first day is the glide you feel a year later.
Each piece is cut to the outline of your mouse’s feet, its edge polished to a smooth radius so it doesn’t catch or scuff the weave, and the adhesive holds firmly yet peels off cleanly. They are made for cloth and hybrid pads; on cloth they sound a little crisper than PTFE, which some players like and some don’t.

Lift the old skates
Slide the flat tip of a plastic pry tool under one end of a skate and lift it slowly, keeping the tool low. If it resists, warm it for a few seconds with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Never use a knife or a screwdriver: they gouge the shell and can scratch the sensor window.
Clean the recesses
Roll leftover adhesive off with your thumb, then wipe every recess with the alcohol prep pad and give it a minute to dry. Residue left in a recess makes the new skate sit high on one side.
Place the new set
Match each skate to its recess before you peel it — every piece fits one position only. Peel one at a time, hold it by the edges and lay it in from one end to the other, so no air is trapped. Keep your fingers off the adhesive.
Press and check
Press each skate firmly for 10 seconds: pressure is what bonds the adhesive. Set the mouse on the pad — it should sit flat without rocking. The bond keeps building for about a day.
TipNew PTFE can feel slightly scratchy for the first hour or two of play and settles as the surface polishes. Pre-polished and glass skates feel the same from the first swipe.
