Overview
Two A6 sheets of grip film to cut for any mouse, including the spots pre-cut kits never cover. Wrap the back of the hump, add a thumb rest or cover the narrow sides of a small mouse: one sheet does the sides and main buttons of most mice with room to spare, so the second leaves plenty for another try.
Choose the fine-grain rubberised texture or the soft suede finish. The back of each sheet carries a printed grid for measuring and cutting straight; round every corner as you cut, and the edges won’t catch or lift.

Applying grip tape(4)
About 10 minutes, start to finish.
Clean the shell
Wipe the sides and buttons with the alcohol prep pad and let them dry for a minute. Skin oil is the reason tape lifts at the edges.
Dry-fit first
Hold each piece over its spot with the backing still on. Line it up with the side-button cut-outs or the split between the main buttons, and note where its edges fall.
Apply from the middle out
Peel the backing, set the centre of the piece first and smooth outwards to the edges with your thumb, pushing any air out ahead of it. In the first few minutes a piece can still be lifted from a corner and laid down again.
Seal the edges
Press along every edge with the microfiber cloth or a fingernail — edges are where tape lifts first. On tight curves, a few seconds of warm air helps the tape lie flat.
TipThe adhesive keeps bonding for about a day: give it that before a long session.
