Overview

Ghost is built for sound and light. Fully clear polycarbonate housings let per-key RGB light the whole switch instead of a small window, and a long-pole stem reaches the bottom housing 0.5 mm early — a short 3.5 mm stroke that ends in a sharp, bright clack.

At 40 gf it is one of the lightest switches we sell: good for fast typists and for games where you tap more than you hold. It is also our value linear, and its 3 pins fit every MX hot-swap socket without clipping — the easy way to fill a full-size board.

  • 40 gf, 3.5 mm long-pole stroke
  • Sharp, bright clack
  • Fully clear PC housings for RGB
  • 3-pin, no clipping needed

Force curve

How hard the key pushes back at every depth of the press, drawn through its measured actuation, peak and bottom-out forces. The dashed line is the way back up.

Force curve · Ghost Linear

Ghost Linear force curve. The key starts at 29 gf and rises evenly, with no bump. It registers at 1.8 mm with 40 gf and bottoms out at 3.5 mm with 50 gf. On the way up the force typically runs about 3 gf lower.

Actuation
40 gf at 1.8 mm
Bottom-out
50 gf at 3.5 mm
Release
typically 3 gf lower
Drawn through the measured points in the spec table. The shape between them and the release line are typical for a linear switch, not a measurement of every unit.

Anatomy(4)

Four parts, each in its own plastic and colour. The materials decide much of the sound.

  1. 0-01top housing

    PolycarbonateClear

Rigid, with a brighter, sharper sound. Clear, so RGB lights the whole switch. Closes the switch and guides the stem; shapes the sound of the upstroke.

  2. 0-02stem

    POM

Self-lubricating: the smoothest stroke and a soft, creamy sound. The moving part. Its cross holds the keycap; with no bump legs, nothing interrupts the stroke.

  3. 0-03spring

    20 mm single-stage spring

Sets the weight: how hard the key pushes back at the top and at the bottom of the stroke.

  4. 0-04bottom housing

    PolycarbonateClear

Rigid, with a brighter, sharper sound. Clear, so RGB lights the whole switch. Holds the metal contacts and pins; shapes the sound of the bottom-out.

Sound & feel

Linear switch with a clacky sound profile.

Sound profile

  1. Muted
  2. Creamy
  3. Thocky
  4. Poppy
  5. Clacky
  6. Clicky

Clacky. Bright and sharp: a higher clack as the key bottoms out.

Linear switches

Straight down and back up with no bump — the smoothest, most consistent stroke.

Feel
The spring’s force rises evenly from the first millimetre to the bottom. Nothing interrupts the stroke, so every press feels the same.
Sound
Set almost entirely by the plastics: nylon reads deep, polycarbonate bright and poppy, full POM soft and creamy.

Good for

  • Fast games and repeated taps
  • Smooth typing if you bottom out anyway
  • Your first custom build
  • Heavy hands, with a heavier spring

Think twice if: You want to feel the moment a key registers — a linear gives no signal until it bottoms out.

Keyboards it fits(2)

Any MX-style hot-swap keyboard takes these — no soldering. They do not work in magnetic (HE) keyboards.
Hot-swap
Sockets that let you pull and insert switches without soldering. Strata 75 and Flux TKL have MX-style hot-swap sockets; Halo 65 HE has magnetic (HE) hot-swap sockets — each takes only its own kind of switch.
3-pin vs 5-pin
5-pin switches have two extra thin plastic legs that steady them in boards without a plate. Hot-swap boards with 5-pin holes take both kinds; for a 3-pin-only board, clip the two plastic legs off with flush cutters — never the metal pins.

Questions(8)

Still unsure? Write to [email protected] — we reply within one business day.

They fit any hot-swap keyboard with MX-style sockets, including our Strata 75, Flux TKL and Atelier builds. They have 3 pins, so they fit both 3- and 5-pin sockets without clipping. They do not work in magnetic (HE) keyboards, and a board without hot-swap sockets needs soldering to change switches.
