Overview

The DC241DH is DICHEN’s most affordable DisplayPort fuser. The gaming PC and the monitor connect over DP 1.4, the second computer over HDMI 2.0, and its picture is overlaid on the gaming PC’s in hardware, with no software and no load on the graphics card.

Many gaming monitors reach their full refresh rate only over DisplayPort, where an HDMI fuser would cost you hertz. This model keeps the gaming PC and the monitor on DP: 1080p at up to 240 Hz and 2K at up to 144 Hz by DICHEN’s official spec, plus 2560 × 1080 at up to 200 Hz and 3440 × 1440 at up to 100 Hz by its shop. It doesn’t do 4K.

Four keys run it. K1 cycles the resolution, K2 sets how strictly the background of the top layer is keyed out (0 to 20), K3 resets that to 0 and K4 turns the overlay on and off. Monitors that need an EDID written get it over USB-C, the same port that takes firmware updates.

DICHEN’s documents disagree in two places. Its English shop describes two HDMI inputs, but the official spec and the panel itself say DisplayPort for the main PC and HDMI for the second, which is what we list. Power is 12 V at 1 A officially and 12 V at 2 A in the shop; if you use your own adapter, take a 2 A one.

  • DP 1.4 for the gaming PC and monitor, HDMI 2.0 for the second PC
  • 1080p 240 Hz, 2K 144 Hz
  • Hardware overlay with adjustable background keying
  • EDID writing and firmware over USB-C
  • Aluminium alloy case

They are in the same refresh class. The DC1A255-H3 is all HDMI; the DC241DH keeps the gaming PC and the monitor on DisplayPort. If your monitor reaches the rate you want over HDMI, the DC1A255-H3 will do.
