Overview

Anchor is the heavier magnetic switch. 55 gf lets fingers rest on the keys without setting them off — which matters when the actuation point sits near the top of the stroke, where the weight of a resting finger can already cross it.

A 22 mm two-stage spring firms up to 65 gf at the bottom for a cushioned finish. The crimson smoked top, black base and white stem give it a look of its own and a deeper, quieter sound than our other magnetic switches — the typing switch for an HE board.

  • 55 gf — no accidental presses
  • Deeper, quieter sound
  • Crimson smoked top
  • Made for typing on HE boards

Force curve

How hard the key pushes back at every depth of the press, drawn through its measured actuation, peak and bottom-out forces. The dashed line is the way back up.

Force curve · Anchor HE Linear

Anchor HE Linear force curve. The key starts at 45 gf and rises evenly, with no bump. It registers at 2.0 mm with 55 gf and bottoms out at 4.0 mm with 65 gf. On supported boards the actuation point can be set anywhere from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm. On the way up the force typically runs about 4 gf lower.

Anatomy(4)

Four parts, each in its own plastic and colour. The materials decide much of the sound.

  1. 0-01top housing

    PolycarbonateClear

Rigid, with a brighter, sharper sound. Clear, so RGB lights the whole switch. Closes the switch and guides the stem; shapes the sound of the upstroke.

  2. 0-02stem

    POM

Self-lubricating: the smoothest stroke and a soft, creamy sound. The moving part. Its cross holds the keycap; a magnet in its base is what the board reads.

  3. 0-03spring

    22 mm two-stage spring

Sets the weight: how hard the key pushes back at the top and at the bottom of the stroke.

  4. 0-04bottom housing

    PA12 nylon

A stable nylon blend with a deeper, quieter sound. Sits over the board’s Hall-effect sensor — no metal contacts to wear out.

  • No pins — magnetic
  • Factory lubed
  • 200M keystrokes

Magnetic (HE) switches

A magnet and a sensor instead of metal contacts — the actuation point is yours to set.

Feel
Linear, with an actuation point you set from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm and Rapid Trigger on supported boards.
Sound
Like a linear of the same plastics — the sensor itself is silent.

Good for

  • Competitive shooters
  • Counter-strafing with Rapid Trigger
  • Players who tune every key

Think twice if: Your keyboard is not a Hall-effect board — magnetic switches only work in HE keyboards, and MX switches don’t work in them.

Keyboards it fits(1)

Magnetic switches work only in Hall-effect keyboards. They do not fit MX sockets, and MX switches do not work in HE boards.
Hall-effect (HE)
Magnetic switches read by a sensor. The board sees the key position continuously, which enables adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger.
Rapid Trigger
An HE-board feature: a key resets the moment it starts rising and actuates again the moment it goes back down, instead of at fixed points. Faster repeated taps and counter-strafes.

Questions(8)

Still unsure? Write to [email protected] — we reply within one business day.

These are magnetic Hall-effect switches: they work only in keyboards built for magnetic switches, such as our Halo 65 HE. They do not fit regular MX hot-swap sockets, and MX switches do not work in HE boards. Magnetic switches also differ between brands in magnet strength and travel, so before fitting them to another brand’s HE keyboard, check that board’s list of supported switches.
